Breaking News...Coach Blair Returns to the Golden Rams

In a press conference to be held this afternoon, Damien Blair will be announced as the new Head Coach of the West Chester University Men's Basketball Program. Damien Blair lead the Whippets for the past 9 seasons, including 3 PIAA AAAA playoff appearances, the 2007-08 Ches-Mont National Division Championship, 8 consecutive winning seasons (current Downingtown Record and an active streak), and a record of 155 - 85 (including 93-39 at Downingtown West). He and his coaching staff has accumulated the best winning percentage (.646), which is the best for any Downingtown (Senior High School, East or West) Head Coach. In addition, he and his coaching staff has accumulated the second most wins for any Downingtown (Senior High School, East or West) Head Coach. A replacement has not yet been announced.

The Downingtown West Boys Basketball Team will host a tip-off tournament on December 5th and 6th. The name of the tournament has not been announced. Downingtown West, Garnet Valley, and Spring-Ford will participate.

The Downingtown West Boys Basketball team will be hosting the 2nd Mid-Atlantic Holiday Tournament. The four team tournament will have the defending champions, Kennett and 2 other teams

Record Breaking Season...

The 2007-2008 season concluded with a trip to the PIAA AAAA Tournament, and a Ches-Mont National Division Championship. The whippets set a Downingtown West Record of 23 wins in a season, which is also 2nd in Downingtown History.
Wins are also the theme, as the Downingtown Consecutive Win Streak record was tied at 8, and setting the Downingtown West Record.
